“Vain trifles as they seem, clothes have, they say, more important offices than to merely keep us warm. They change our view of the world and the world’s view of us.”

Virginia Woolf

Welcome to Every Day Clothes. I’m Kelli, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a film archivist, photographer, and travel and textile enthusiast. I hail from the Great Lakes and my current home base is in Nashville, Tennessee. I live about a quarter of my life out of a suitcase.

A few years ago, frustrated with the available clothing options and requiring a simple, functional, and meaningful wardrobe, I began to explore the world of slow fashion and capsule wardrobes. Through that community, I met minimalists, maximalists, sew-ers, thrifters, ethical fashion supporters, capsule wardrobe-ers, textile artists, and designers. What started as a project to create a lean closet (and never shop for clothes again) turned into an ever-growing interest in what people wear and why.

I found that every piece of clothing was a window into a cultural and personal experience.

I wanted a place to share those stories– and to expand my own.

This is that place.

I hope you’ll share your story too. Drop me a line, leave a comment on a post, or stop by on Instagram or Pinterest. I’d love to hear from you.
